Update 9/8/2020:

Hello WYF families!

I hope everyone is staying well and that you are enjoying the end of summer and relieved our kids are back to (virtual) school!  I just wanted to give you an update on football.

As I indicated in the last update from 7/31, it has been decided we will be moving our season to spring and look to start the first part of March.  It also looks like fall sports will go to spring and spring will move to summer, which could help with overlapping of sports.

As you know, things are changing quite often and I will get out communication as quickly as I can if anything gets changed or decided with what spring football will look like.

We are still hoping to offer some sort of in-house 7 on 7 football camp that will involve everyone.  The Verona varisty coaches and us are working on some sort of format of what that will look like.  The timing of this looks to be later this month or October.  It would be once a week for a few weeks if we can make this work.

Finally, regarding fees, we can apply the registration fees you paid for the 2020 season (which will be spring 2021).  If you need a refund, please reach out.  Otherwise we will apply your fees to the spring.

Please reach out if you have any questions or need anything.  Thank you, again, for all for your patience and understanding during this strange time.

Go Wildcats!

Update 7/31/2020:

Hello WYF families!

I hope everyone is staying well and that you are able to enjoy your summer.  I just wanted to give you an update on the status for football for 2020.

It has been decided that, at this time, we will be moving our season to spring and look to start the first part of March.  It also looks like fall sports will go to spring and spring will move to summer, so there may not be as much overlapping as originally thought.

Of course things are changing, what seems like, weekly.  So, that said, we will get information out to everyone as anything is decided and/or changes are made.

We are planning to do some sort of in-house football camp that will involve everyone.  What that looks like is TBD, but we will let you know.  The timing of that would be after Labor Day and would be once or twice a week.

Please reach out if you have any questions or need anything.  I know this isn't ideal, as we love to have football during the fall, but this seemed to be the best of all the proposals that were given.

Thank you all for your patience and understanding during this strange time.

Go Wildcats!

Update 6/1/2020:

Hello WYF familes!

I hope everyone is well and enjoying the first part of our summer.  I just wanted to give a couple of updates on the season and where we are at.

First, we are fully anticipating our football season starting on time and playing a full season.  That said, we are still waiting on some direction from the WIAA and Verona High School.  Although we are a private club not affiliated with the VASD, we do like to align with the direction and policies of the high school football program.  Currently, they are also waiting for direction from the WIAA and outside experts on how to conduct the 2020 football season.

We feel in the upcoming weeks, we will have more direction and will update you as soon as we know.  Again, we clearly intend to have football as normal and will be as safe as we possibly can be.

Finally, if you have not registered, I ask that you do so ASAP here.  All registration fees are 100% refundable if in the unlikely scenario that we are unable to play this year.

If you have any questions or need anything, please reach out to us at .

We look forward to seeing you and your player this year!

Go Wildcats!

Hello everyone,

First, we hope you and your families are staying healthy and safe.  As you all know, we are facing some different times.  It really puts things in perspective and makes us all think about the things we might have taken for granted and how much we may appreciate it more than ever.

While it seems as though our football season is still a long way off, we know many of you have questions from registration and whether we will have a season.

Like everyone, we are actively looking at scenarios, planning our approach and taking guidance from the experts. This has meant listening to the direction of the CDC, public health and government officials.  We remain optimistic that our upcoming season will start on time, but there is still so much we don't know yet.

We will continue to provide updates to you as we receive more information from public officials.  In the meantime, we do have registration open so you can register for the upcoming season.  If you can register, we ask that you do so as soon as you can so we can plan.  Click here for registration information and to register.

We appreciate your support and wish you all good health and hope you stay safe.  As always, please feel free to email veronawyf@gmail.com with any questions.

Regards,

The 2020 football season is expected to start in August.  Due to the current pandemic situation, we are waiting to see what the state of Wisconsin and the WIAA plans for sports.  Please stay tuned as we will update everyone as soon as possible.  You can register for the 2020 season here.

If you have any questions or concerns, please contact us.

Thank you,
